MyOrigo MyDevice Becomes Relevant Again Thanks to the
We covered this way back in the Johnson administration, but this MyOrigo MyDevice is a tilt-sensing touch-screen phone that looks nothing like the iPhone. It was released in late 2003 to little fanfare, even though there's only one exterior button and an auto-switching portrait/landscape function. Sound familiar? After the Macworld announcement, F-Origin made up a quick and dirty hack of what their MyDevice is capable of. Long story short, they made up a mock iPhone/iPod interface that played video in landscape mode and had a "traditional" iPod interface. Ever since then, cellphone manufacturers have been beating down their door trying to get their OS and design into other phones. What does this mean for you? Look for touchscreen and multi-sensored phones from companies other than Apple in the coming years. Check out the video to get a better (blurry) look.
