Verizon's FiOS Tech Vans Going
Verizon has announced that they're retrofitting 13 of their FiOS installer vans with hybrid technology, as no auto manufacturer is making hybrid vans that they can buy. They claim that "we hope to send a message to automotive manufacturers that they should be manufacturing hybrid vehicles in all classes." Right. Either Verizon really cares about the environment or they realized that they were spending too much money on gas and figured out a way to save money and make themselves look good at the same time. Which sounds more like the Verizon we know and tolerate? But hey, no matter what their motives are it's good to see them using hybrid technology, and here's hoping more companies with large ground fleets follow suit.
