GSM Cell

Mobile telephony dates back to those days when devices used for communication that are unrecognised in today's GSM world. The mobile rigs and the taxi-cab radio, the two-way police car communication system and the like, were the first concept developed as the first ever mobile communication system. The mobile rig was a system of the past. It was found mounted on the roof top of the police cars in the United States. The radio equipment had 'push to talk' microphone and a control panel for volume and changing the frequency. These were then running on the 12 Volt car batteries and were units which were fixed in the car. The installation would typically have a vehicle mounted antenna system, connected to the fixed unit by a coaxial cable. The unit consists of a trans-receiver, a power adapter, a microphone with a 'push to talk'
