Ubiquam's Hybrid Phone Does CMDA and
When it comes to cell phones, your mobile either operates on the CMDA or GSM frequency. Here in the States that means Sprint/Verizon vs AT&T/T-Mobile. Ubiquam's U520, however, is the first mobile to operate on both standards. Speed-wise, it supports up to 2.4 Mbps data transfer rates on CDMA EV-DO, but maxes out at 80 kbps on GSM. Otherwise, the bicurious phone is pretty ordinary with a 2-megapixel camera, built-in Bluetooth, and a memory card slot. No word on pricing or availability, though at least we know it'll work in most countries. '" Louis Ramirez Ubiquam U520 from Skylink [Unwired View]
