Ericsson to Triple EDGE Speeds by 2009 - Too Little Too

theflash.jpgAs all the major cellphone players in the US are heading toward widespread EV-DO Rev. A and HSDPA deployment, we have to wonder what Ericsson is doing speeding up EDGE. Sure, providing 1Mbps speeds by 2009 is nice, we guess, for current EDGE customers, but by then most customers will fall under the umbrella of much faster 3G coverage. Then again, being able to get faster speeds on some of our old phones (and for people who don't need/want to upgrade) could be nice.
