Ditch the Stamps, Nokia Allows Online Firmware

nokiaphonesoftware.jpgIn days past, if you wanted your Nokia cellphone firmware upgraded it required actually mailing your to a Nokia service center or physically taking it into one. Now no more. Consumerist is reporting that Nokia will now let owners upgrade their firmware online. The service currently supports the following phones: N70, N72, 6131, 6630, 6680, 6681 and 6682. That is only seven of Nokia's billions of cellphone models, but at least it is a good start. You can update the firmware over-the-air or directly through the PC.
