Nokia Officially Shows 5300 XpressMusic
While a few grainy photos were leaked earlier this month, the Nokia 5300 made its official debut last night at a Nokia event in New York. (They even paid Gnarls Barkley to show up for some reason.) Now known as the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic, the music-friendly slider uses microSD cards to expand upon the cellphone's built-in 1,500 song capacity and throws in an FM tuner and a 1.3-megapixel camera for good measure. There's dedicated music buttons on the side, which, to me, felt a little awkward. Call me crazy, but I like my buttons front and center. The Nokia 5300 XpressMusic will probably hit European shores first in the neighborhood of $300, which isn't too bad considering it runs on Symbian Series 60 40.
