WirelessInfo.com: Where to Get 14,000 Word, Insanely Detailed Cellphone

hats6-s2.jpgRichard Baguley, Gizmodo and PC World alum, just launched a cellphone review site that promises to be so detailed, so scientific in its research and reporting, and so thorough that it all promises to make you beg for them to shut up and get to the point in their 14,000 word writeups. That's more words than the fricking instruction manuals. What's really insane is their page detailing just how they test. They've got an expensive Wilson Electronics Dual-band SOHO Cellular/PCS Amplifier to ensure no phones get poor marks by fault of the network dropping out. They test audio using signal generators, and analysis software on the other side of the line. They even use a head/torso manikin to make sure the phones are being tested realistically in terms of microphone and speaker positioning. And they test cameras in the handsets for noise and color correction. All that's missing are the pants and blending tests. '€" Brian Lam How We Test [wirelessinfo.com]
