Funding Available for EMF Research, but Who Needs to Ask the Right
Funding is available to study the effects of Electromagnetic Radiation which is produced by cell phone towers and other electronic equipment. There are indications that these frequencies have long term health risks, and research is need to ascertain the dangers and how children, in particular, can be protected. Children are in danger because their skulls are thinner and they use cell phones and hand portables frequently. There are some protective devices that can help. More research is needed, and money is available for EMF research. The research needs to be interdisciplinary because the bioeffects appear to be diverse, and probably are at the cellular and genetic level. More understanding is needed as to why some people show more electrosensitivity than others, and what this is indicating for everyone else in terms of long term health

One Consumer's Odyssey In Getting Her Motorola RAZR
One unlucky lady went through almost a dozen Motorola phone operators to try and get her Motorola V3i RAZR replaced or repaired. Reading through her IM story, we felt like she was Odysseus, her repaired RAZR was Odysseus's wife/home, and Motorola's phone jockeys were Poseidon, tossing her about the sea like a ruthless bitch. Long story short'"though you should really go to Consumerist and read the long story'"they shipped her a used Canadian V3i when they promised a new American V3i, and so far refused to cooperate further. The last call rep even pulled the old "trust me, I work for Motorola" on her as an excuse not to document, via email, what they agreed on in a conversation. Makes you want to just run right out and buy a Moto, doesn't it?'" Jason Chen Motorola V3i Stops Working For No Good Reason, Wants To Charge $175 [Consumerist]

Samsung M610 Pics Surface: Thin Enough to be Prom
Pics have surfaced of the Samsung M610 handset, along with a precious few details. It's a slimmed-down replacement of Samsung's A900 clamshell, and thin it is'"at just 12mm deep it's still able to pack lots of techno inside. Looks like it's stoked for tunes with a pair of stereo speakers, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), a slot for a microSD flash memory card, and it even gets to keep Samsung's user interface instead of its predecessor's lame Sprint UI. Samsung's also added a OLED external display. This looks like a worthy candidate to fight the battle against the Razr juggernaut, fighting over who will be Prom Queen of the thinness derby. But look out everybody'"here comes Apple. No pricing or availability info was forthcoming yet. '" Charlie White Samsung M610: Pictures & New Details [PCS Intel]
